Still Images

In class, we created a few still images from Rio de Janerio. We wanted to showcase the rich and the poor and how living in favelas can affect your daily life.

In this one, three of us are begging and one is selling a stolen phone. This shows the life of people in favelas. Everyone is poor and sad with no money and therefore have to beg to survive. Their lives are affected because they live in a poor environment and therefore have to resort to stealing items and selling them which we have also showcased. I think that this unit will help us have a more realistic take on acting and how we can incorporate it in real life

Here, We are on yacht and are living the rich life. I am driving the boat with my chin high and everyone is sightseeing and having fun. I feel that they don't really know what is going on outside of their lavish lifestyle. They are oblivious about the poor people and have no idea that there is a favela. They're happy and are subconsciously ignorant about how people have to survive not actually ever fully live.

  1. Fantastic; a great example of using still images to demonstrate understanding, and your descriptions give a clear context to each scene.
